We are delighted to announce that founder and network leader of CREST.BD, Dr. Erin Michalak, has been appointed Patient Engagement Methods Cluster Lead at the BC SUPPORT (Support for People and Patient-Oriented Research and Trials) Unit. As the Methods Cluster lead for Patient Engagement, Dr. Michalak will be working alongside a community of methodologists to undertake projects within the context of patient-oriented research.
The BC SUPPORT Unit is a multi-partner organization created to support, streamline and increase patient-oriented research throughout BC. The unit is one of ten SUPPORT units in Canada established as part of the Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR), a national initiative led by the Canadian institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
Dr. Michalak and network member Sara Lapsley will also be co-presenting on digital engagement methods in patient-oriented research for the upcoming BC SUPPORT Unit provincial conference, Putting Patients First: Partnerships for Better Health Research (event hashtag: #PPF2017).
The conference will be held on Thursday, 9th November at the Marriott Vancouver Pinnacle Downtown (1128 West Hastings Street), Vancouver, from 8:00am-6:00pm.
