It is our pleasure to share with you that Dr. Ivan Torres, a CREST.BD Network member, has been awarded the 2021 Health Professional-Investigator Award from Michael Smith Health Research BC. Now in its fifth year, the Health Professional-Investigator (HP-I) award is dedicated to support health professionals who are actively involved in patient care to conduct and apply research relevant to health and/or the health system to ultimately improve health outcomes in BC and beyond.

This award will support a study led by Dr. Torres to investigate the severity, pattern, and variation in cognitive functioning among individuals with treatment resistant schizophrenia (TRS), and to determine whether cognitive difficulties predict treatment response and functioning.
