Georgina is a Senior Lecturer in Mental illness and Chronic Diseases at the Centre for Psychiatry, Wolfson Institute of Preventive Medicine at Queen Mary, University of London. Georgina’s research has focused on the impact of psychosocial stress (life events and childhood adversity) and their interplay with genetic factors in bipolar disorder and major depression. More recently she has become interested in the interface between mental and physical illnesses paying particular attention to the role of childhood adversity. Her research has been funded by the International Bipolar Foundation, Barts Charity, Richard Benjamin Trust as well as the UK’s Medical Research Council and Economic, Social Research Council.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends when I'm not working. I also enjoy tap dancing and boxercise to keep fit.
